FAQ

When and where is Hogs and Hens?

This year's Hogs and Hens is Friday, October 20th from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM and Saturday, October 21st from 10:00 AM 8:00 PM in downtown Abbeville. 

Do I have to pay to get in? Do I have to buy tickets before going to vendors? 

Hogs & Hens is a FREE family friendly event open to the public. You do not have to purchase individual tickets. Most vendors accept cash and card. 

Is alcohol permitted within the event area?

Beer and wine will be permitted inside the Festival event area with the purchase of a wristband at the Festival Information Tent. Wristbands are good for one day only and a new one must be purchased each day of the Festival. You must be present and show ID and City staff must place the wristband on you. The wristband will come with an official Hogs and Hens cup, which wine or beer must be kept in while in the event area (Or approved cup from a local business). Beer or wine must be purchased from a licensed Downtown Business and no outside beer or wine will be permitted. Wristband sales and the allowance of beer and wine in the event area will be from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday October 20th and 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 21st. This rule during Hogs and Hens does not impact the consumption of alcohol on public property in any other part of the City. Signage will be posted marking the extent of the Festival event area in regards to alcohol consumption. 

Where are bathrooms located? 

Portable public restrooms are available in two locations: W. Pickens St. by The Press and Banner and Trinity St. beside Maria's. An ADA compliant portable public restroom can be found on W. Pickens St. A baby-changing station is also provided on Trinity St. All portable restrooms have motion censored lights. Brick and Mortar public restrooms are also located in the Livery Stables Parking Lot.

How do I get updates about the festival? 

For updates, please follow the City of Abbeville on Facebook.

What's not allowed. 

Pets are NOT allowed the festival area. Smoking and vaping are NOT allowed in the festival area.

Where can I park? Is there handicapped accessible parking? 

Parking is available along the outside of Court Square, including behind the Abbeville Opera House and the Belmont Inn. Handicap parking is located on Church Street in parking lot behind the Livery Stable. 

What’s the band lineup?

Where is the information tent? 

The official information tent is located in front of the Abbeville Opera House on the South End of the Square near the stage. City staff will be present to answer any questions you might have along with being the location for lost and found. Festival T-shirts may also be purchased at the info tent.

Are businesses open during the festival? 

Yes! In addition to food and craft vendors on the Square, we encourage you to visit our local businesses downtown. Find the map and list of businesses here.
