Christmas on the Square kicks off with the annual tree lighting on the square.  What follows is two months full of joyous events, from shopping to concerts, there is something for you. Make sure you are following us on Facebook and are signed up for our tourism newsletter!

Christmas Tree Lighting: November 9, 2023 on the Square. Red Gate Realty will have Santa Claus available for pictures!

Santa Paws Pet Photos: November 18, 2023 from 10:00AM - 2:00PM. 123 Washington St. next to Commercial Printing. Have your pet's picture taken with Santa! Sponsored by the Abbeville County Humane Society. Appointments requested, but walk-ins welcome. For an appointment, call or text (864)-828-0105. $20 donation gets 3 emailed photos of your pet and an additional $5 will get you a 5x7 print to take home! Professional photography services are donated by Ehney Photography. Santa's Helper, Santa Paws, is Mr. Tim Keppler.

Handmade for the Holidays: December 1-2, 2023 at the Livery Stable. Join the Abbeville County Chamber of Commerce for an artisans faire.

Guy Penrod: December 2, 2023 at the Abbeville Opera House. GRAMMY ® and DOVE Award-winning artist Guy Penrod is an amazing vocalist to be sure. Guy spent 14 years as lead singer with the renowned Gaither Vocal Band, where he became internationally known for his powerhouse vocals and broad singing range and has since released multiple top-selling solo albums. His rasp-tinged country style vocals and experience on stage over the years have given him the ability to be relaxed and confident in every setting. He has a stage presence that few can pull off. Victorian Christmas Open House: December 2, 2023 at the McGowan House.

30th Annual Christmas Concert Presented by McCormick County Community Chorus: December 2 at 7:00PM and December 3 at 3:00PM at Savannah Lakes Village Recreation Center. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Tickets are available beginning November 1 and can be purchased at Savannah Lakes Village Recreation Center, MACK Artisans Guild Gift Shop, and Crawford & Breazeale Drug Co. A portion of proceeds supports the Chorus' Youth Scholarship Program.

An Erskine Celebration: Christmas Lessons & Carols: Join Erskine and our local community for an evening of lessons and carols at the Due West ARP Church on December 6. The program will feature the Erskine Choraleers and musicians from Honea Path Baptist and Mt. Zion AME, along with members of the Erskine faculty and staff. Celebrate the birth of Christ with us! 

Breakfast with Santa: December 9, 2023

14th Annual Reindeer Run: December 9, 2023 presented by Abbeville First Bank and hosted by the Abbeville Rotary Club and Abbeville County Chamber of Commerce. Registration starts at 8:00 AM. Shotgun Start at 8:30 AM. All participants who register BEFORE Nov. 23 are guaranteed a t-shirt. All funds raised during the Reindeer Run go to support the Angel Tree Bicycle Program for Abbeville County Children. Register online at RunSignUp.com or pick up paper registrations at the Chamber or Abbeville First Bank. 

Christmas Parade: December 9, 2023

Cookie Walk: December 9, 2023 in Downtown Abbeville. Join the Abbeville County Chamber of Commerce to visit local merchants, do some Christmas shopping, and enjoy delicious cookies!

A Christmas Story: December 8-10, 2023 at the Abbeville Opera House, presented by Abbeville County Performing Arts.

A Christmas Carol Kids' Camp: December 18-22, 2023 at the Abbeville Opera House. The Baillie Players is a professional touring children’s theatre production company hosting a 5-day drama camp. Performances are December 22 at 11 AM and 5 PM. Register here.
